Earlier this fall, my 10 year old son's school had a bike/walk to school day. We live about 5 miles from his school, and he and his friend (Blake) decided to bike to school that day. I rode my bike with them, and just as we were turning on to the longest stretch on a busy county road, Blake says, "Before I die I want to see the Minnesota Twins win a world series and an alpaca spit." Two pretty random wishes combined in a single sentence during a bike ride in 45 degree weather. In December, the friend celebrated his 11th birthday and my son and I knew we just had to at least fulfill the alpaca wish (the Twins we don't have much control over. That one will take form on its own in the spring when they have their home opener in their new stadium).
We ordered a stuffed alpaca from your company and rolled up a $10 bill and attached it to it's nose... closest we could get to making it spit! The alpaca was a big hit. He slept/snuggled with it that night during the slumber party. He also took it out of town the next weekend to visit relatives. His name is Julius!
Blake is a tough, sportsy kid who has a reputation for being pretty competitive and tough. About the last thing you would expect him to do at his age would be to snuggle with a stuffed animal. However, his mom says he absolutely loves it and has introduced "Julius" to family and friends.
When "Julius" arrived at our house prior to the birthday party, my three boys ages 10, 12 and 13 couldn't stop petting the darn thing because it is so unbelievably soft. I can attest that even the toughest young athletic boys can always exert a soft side if it involves an alpaca!
I have to wonder... at 45, am I too old to have an alpaca of my own to snuggle with?

As a collecter of unusual articles, this Alpaca fits the bill. I would love to have a real one, but city living doesn't allow it. I have it displayed with a smaller one that was given to me this past summer when I retired. Since each one is different it was like a pleasent surprise and from all the information collected each live baby alpaca is different in color. This alpaca is a great collecter's piece.
